Texas Reading Lists Click here to look at the Texas Library Association's picks for outstanding children's books. The Lone Star Reading List is for 6th-8th grade; the Bluebonnet Award is voted on by 3rd-6th grade school children in Texas; the TAYSHAS list highlights good reads for high school age students; the Maverick recognizes outstanding books in graphic format, and the 2X2 reading list has recommended picture books for ages 2 through grade 2. The Lariat List is new and recommends titles of good books for adult readers.
