About Miss Anderson...
I envision great things for the coming year and I can’t wait to meet all of the students and parents who will be participating in the choir program. As the kids and I will have plenty of opportunity to get to know one another in class, I would like to tell the parents a little something about myself before our year begins. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education and am certified to teach K-12 instrumental or vocal music. I have completed 12 hours toward a masters degree at Abilene Christian University and am currently deciding in what direction to go in order to finish this degree.
From 1994 until 2001, I was a full-time band director in the area. In 2001, I became a part-time band director while I also began working as a Children’s Minister for a local church. From 2003 until 2006, I worked solely in the Children’s Ministry role. And finally, I began teaching choir at Stone MS in 2006. I have experience teaching elementary music and choir in public school as well as with the children at my church.
I am a teacher with high expectations for my students. I ask for nothing less than their very best, not only as a musician and student, but as a person. I believe each and every child has incredible potential and is capable of achieving more than they probably believe.
Many people ask teachers why we do what we do. For me it is quite simple…It is an honor to be selected to serve! I feel every year is a true blessing and I thank you for the chance to work with your kids. It is going to be a great year! | |
