About me |

I am native to Paris, Texas and a graduate from Paris High School. My career in Law Enforcement began as a Delta County Jailer/911 Dispatcher in 1989. I joined the Lamar County Sheriff's Department as a Field Deputy in 1990 where I worked in civil process, investigations and was a intoxilyzer operator. I joined the Paris Police Department in 1995 as a 911 Dispatcher and became a Police Officer in 1996. I was assigned to North Lamar ISD as a School Resource Officer in February of 2003. I have recently been awarded a Master Peace Officer license with the State of Texas.

 Without a doubt, the most important relationships for the SRO to cultivate are relationships with the students. Getting youth actively involved in the School Resource Officer program can help the SRO to build rapport with students; reduce stereotypes of police officers; provide opportunities for youth; be involved in the improvement of their school; and promote crime and delinquency prevention. |

Teaching 6th Grade Class |
 My sixth grade class students are amazing. Working together with North Lamar ISD and the Paris Police Department, we teach students to make better choices, find positive role models and make the school a better place for everyone. I give instruction to students about how crime, drugs, violence and gangs can make a negative impact on not only their lives but the people around them. |

 The SRO's have several duties at their schools, but their primary objectives are to protect the school, staff and students, prevent drug and alcohol abuse, and to prevent juvenile delinquency through close contact with students and school personnel. The SRO's investigate delinquent acts within the school system and crimes within the community that are school related. The SRO's are also responsible to improve the image of the uniformed law enforcement officer in the eyes of the students and community. |
