My name is Misty LeFlore and I am currently the Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for Lamar County Special Education Shared Services. I have worked for North Lamar ISD for many years. I was first a 3rd grade teacher and then I worked to become a trained Reading Recovery Teacher. It was during that time that I truly saw the need for a Literacy Program at the 2nd and 3rd grade level. Luckily, I worked for administration that allowed me to be the first teacher at Everett Elementary to start the Literacy Program and then allowed me to work with that program for several years. Currently, I am an itinerant teacher, which means that I travel to the following school districts to serve my students with visual impairments: North Lamar, Chisum, Prairiland, and Roxton. I also work closely with Early Childhood Intervention Programs (ECI). I can honestly say that I love my job! My office is located on the North Lamar Independent School District Campus at the Goodman Learning Center. My hours are Monday - Friday from 7:45 a.m. each morning until 3:45 p.m. each afternoon. I follow the North Lamar ISD school calendar. My phone number at the office is: 903-737-2031 ext. 5011. |
