Higgins 1st grade G.T. Students learn about the brain's parts and thier functions. Following their study, students created a brain showing the 3 main parts from "brain dough", which they made during GT class.
Skull - The Brain's Natural Helmet
To follow up our study of the brain and it's parts and functions, 1st grade GT students learned about the brain's natural helmet - their skull! This 1st grade GT student shows the helmet he created during an Instant Challenge. The challenge was to create a helmet from "stuff" that would allow the "egg head" skull to survive a sky dive without cracking. Students had 15 minutes to complete their helmets.
