Welcome to the 2011-2012 Gifted and Talented Class!
*My name is Mrs. Carter, and I am very excited to be your child's G.T. teacher this year. I have been teaching for 29 years, and all of my career has been in the North Lamar Independent School District.
*G.T. students in 2nd - 5th grades will receive a full day of gifted instruction. 1st grade G.T. students will have an hour and a half of gifted instruction one time each week. The activities we work on will involve higher-level thinking skills along with creative and critical thinking, and research. Problem solving, visual and spatial perception activities, analogies, patterning, graphing, logic, and fine arts are just some of the activities that your child will be involved in while participating in the program. Students in first through fifth grades will be required to do an extensive research project, product, and presentation during the second semester. This is a wonderful opportunity for your gifted child to be challenged to learn in fun and imaginative ways! |
